Tech Experts

I must say It does make for some funny reading at times, I have missed it, been on and of here myself since 2007 under different handles, there is always one or two keyboard warriors that like to entertain. I guess everyone has a right to their opinion.

No harm done so long as people are diligent enough to verify/check the validity of what is been said.

Having said that, isn't it simpler to just Google it and work it out for yourself. Perhaps there may be

those intellectually challenged who cannot and fall prey to bad advice.

I value the advice given on this and other forums (fora). It is not too difficult to sort out the authoritative from the opinion and go with what is worth a try. The personal attacks are unfortunately a negative part of "social media" and can be ignored or politely rebuked by those who wish to participate respectfully.

Well said Stew, plus it is possible to " google " said advice to rid oneself of the chaff.

I raised this question here as I have sought advice on a number of topics in the past and, I must add, have received much worthwhile advice and opinion on the various topics.

On the other hand I have rejected advice and opinion if I feel uncomfortable in the manner that advice and opinion is delivered.

I have also contributed advice and opinion on a number of matters sought by forum members.

I seek advice from members who can provide real life experience regarding matters of interest.

When I sought advice, for example, on matters of solar, solar controllers and lithium battery systems not one contributor provided opinion or advice upon their personal setup of such systems. Indeed, many had no lithium battery setups themselves, but were purporting to have expertise with no real life setup experiences. And then there were the squabbles amongst those contributors.

When I sought advice, for example, regarding Grand Cherokee Jeeps I want to hear from the Jeep owners and their experiences and not from friends of friends of family friends of forum members.

When I have given advice or opinions it has been on real life solutions that I have experienced and I just pass those experiences on.

I am not an expert in any field worthwhile on this forum. But I am happy to share my real life solutions to those that may find them useful. And I seek your real life solutions that may be useful to me.

I will never tell anyone on this forum how to solve a particular problem unless I have solved such a problem myself and will share that experience.

Tell me how you solved the problem so I can then assess how to tackle the solution.

Overall, advice received on this forum has generally been worthwhile. Real life experience advice will always trump theoretical opinions.

I also try to only provide advice on the things that I have experienced or I have been educated about.
