How to continue avoiding COVID-19,

I've never had COVID-19. Does this mean I'm in the clear? How do I continue avoiding it?

Talking to Rob on the phone and as he is on treatment which lowers his immune system, he just stays at home between hospital visits.

He can not take the chance by unknowingly mixing with those who may be not well but still venture out into the public.
He restricts visitors and even family to his home while he is under threat.

Me personally, I avoid crowded areas both socially and with shopping etc and I wear my mask when indoors apart from my caravan.
We are travelling at the moment and are still being extremely careful within any public facility or with any caravan park that we are staying in.

Did I say that all my vaccinations and flu shots are up to date.

Have not had COVID yet...still wear a mask when out and about. ( Have had all vax shots)

Was told the other day " People who haven't had COVID yet, don't have any friends." ( Its a throw away comment do not take it seriously)

I think I have had it sometime, a month or so ago. Tested 6 times with 3 different Rat tests, all negative, but not well at all for the corresponding 6 weeks. Didn't do a PCR though. Did two Rat tests with the doctor, and he said nah, your clear. Feel better now, It didn't feel like a normal flu , and no left over from a normal flu. The worst thing was this massive chest pain, in the upper center of my breast plate, that has lasted for 4 weeks. Felt at first like a broken rib, then after 1 week, moved to the center of my chest. Xray, nothing there.. This is one of the reasons, why I went bush, so I didn't infect my wife.

That's interesting bicyclecamper,

I also had a chest pain and a fever. I thought the pain may have been related to over exercising. I did a RAT with negative results.

The doctor thought that it may have been heart trouble (apparently fever and a high temperature can be an indication of heart attack) but nothing showed up on the two ECGs that I had. Nothing showed up on the urine, PCR and blood tests either.

My whole family social distance and wear N95 masks when not at home and we have all avoided COVID-19 so far.

I wear my mask at all times in public and I use hand sanitiser when available as well as in my ute.
I dont go into crowded areas either and I too have been fully vaccinated against Covid and the flu.

I am fairly observant of others with any sneezing or coughing as well.

I have not had Covid so far and I am happy not to have friends if their requirement is that I do need to have Covid to be a friend.biggrin biggrin

I was like Rob through the Covid lockdowns where I was on Chemo treatment and that makes you sick enough without getting Covid.

The doctors advised me that if I did get Covid while on treatment my immunity would be so low I could easily die.

The precautions that those responsible people are doing will all help eventually.. It is not just the flu. It can be quite serious in some cases.

5 weeks ago got really crook, first 4 days it got worse then about 4 days in bed 24 hours but couldn't lie down anymore. Felt really cold & or hot at times similar to reaction to my first jab, Astrazeneca.

Had pain in upper legs, & hips to some degree, no chest pains as others have stated. Did many tests all negative. Have this persistent cough for the last 3 weeks. It is just starting to get a bit better. Maybe I had Covid but all negative.

Other half had nothing. We avoid busy places & wear masks where necessary. I will get third jab in 3 months, so 6 months after the second (Pfizer), 6 months after the first (Astrazeneca) & I will swap arms again. Got tinnitus from Astrazeneca, 8.1kHz noise, still have it.

Although I am up to date with all my jabs, and I believe that I am reasonably healthy, for my age

I do try to avoid getting Covid, by wearing a mask, sanitising my hands, etc

My gut feeling is, (and I hope that I am proved wrong in the future), it is possible for a strain of Covid to come out, and side stepping any vaccines we have

One benefit I find while wearing a mask, is that people side step me, thinking that I have something they may catch from me

We wear masks when near other people who we always keep a safe distance away from us.
We never use public toilets, never stay in CP's & always mask up at fuel outlets as well as using disposable rubber gloves at the bowser.
We only shop at small town supermarkets mostly when they first open in the morning.
At home we get our groceries left at the front door.
We don't mix with anyone including our family.
If we need something we buy it online & get it delivered to our front door.
We've had 4 jabs plus the flu jab.

Your methods are almost exactly the same as ours on our most recent trip.

My wife does shop at the supermarket and I shop at the butchers and hardware store but we always wear N95 masks and we have sanitiser in our cars which we use after being out in the 'infectious areas'.
