Now on this forum there are regular threads about various laws that need to be followed/obeyed.
But I have recently read where members have promoted breaking various laws. (not necessarily towing related)
I'm a member of other forums where if members promote or just send out a massage that it's OK to pick and choose what laws you obey they are quickly sent on their way. And I agree with that policy.
Why don't forums generally allow this type of conduct?
1. It reflects badly on the forum administration.
2. It reflects badly on the forum members.
3. It reflects badly on the forum industry/sport/hobby.
4. Perhaps the forum could theoretically be sued.
5. Causes arguments.
6. Members leave the forum or stop posting. (this is happening here, now)
In addition, IMO a forum should be enjoyable, friendly and focus on assisting members. Not about:
a. Boasting.
b. Posts designed to start arguments.
c. Politics, religion and other emotive subjects.
d. Belittle members.
e. Derailing threads.
f. Not be condescending.
Sorry, I digress.
More to the point, should members:
1. Who promote breaking the law be allowed to stay?
I think it would depend more on "how" they "promote" breaking the law?
I guess you could always argue, right or wrong, that we do live in a democracy, don't we!!!
Fast heading down a nanny country, rules, regulations(over regulated), do gooders "namely would be's if they could be's"
Still, I think it will generated some interesting replies all the same
cheers
Ian
Clearly, we do not want anyone to post messages that advocate breaking the law. If there are posts which anyone things are doing this, or if anyone has concerns about a specific post or topic, please contact me directly and I will take action.

Yes, sounds great, but what is the current policy? What action is taken?
Just recently a person was actively advocating that breaking the law was acceptable. Encouraged it simply because he didn't agree with it.
If members continue this sort of behaviour what happens? ANYTHING?
Do the threads only get locked or does the member face a consequence? History tells me there are no concequences. They just keep on pissing off members? More arguments. Someone needs to fix the root cause. Find the common denominator.
Unless there is a consequence nothing will change. No change equals more good members simply fading away.
Thanks everyone, for the feedback. If any member thinks that there is a post on our forum which advocates breaking the law, please write to me including a link to that post. Thanks.
