It started off with flickering lights and then it was switching from 240 to gas, temperature lights varying by themselves, powering off by itself, etc, etc. Then disaster! completely dead. No fridge and heading up north. I'm a former electronics technician so it was easy for me to check the simple things with my multimeter. All to no avail. I bought a 60litre portable fridge but they are a pia for food. Great for beer!
Well today I thought I'd dismantle the lower control panel and I spotted a flippin burnt out wire on a multi connector, see pink circle on photo. It must have been arcing to the gas ignitor HT wire. So I jumpered-out the offending two wires as a temporary measure and brill!! powers up now, and gets cold. Eureka.
Yeah Radar. I am discusted about the wiring mess. But it works and I'll get the soldering iron and heat shrink on it when I get home. BTW, the Dometic wiring is a bit of a mess from the factory. This is what caused the problem in the first place.
Cheers Tony

I had a giggle, ours was mess and in my untradie like manner I did shorten some wires, rerouted others also.
At times I like to learn more about these sort of things but other times I wish they, the manufacturer would get it right, it would be so easy to do it on a bench.
Ps, when I get a chance, I will pull the vent off and have good check.
