does anyone know how to get electric power to the element on top of the Swift 500 predominantly gas cook top ? It obviously works if you are plugged into 240 volts. For the life of me I cant get it to work . phil
Just had a look at the instructions as I am not with my the van.
Make sure the lid is fully opened and that curtains etc are not preventing it from opening fully. Unless it is fully opened the switch for the gas and electric will not allow it to be turned on.
Secondly, it will be plugged into a GPO somewhere in an adjacent cupboard so take a look and make sure that GPO is switched on if it has a switch.

The electric element also has a safety switch so that if the lid is closed whilst it is turned on then it will switch off. Have you tried the two methods I suggested?
Try pressing the gas spark igniter, if there is no spark then you do not have 240v going to the stove. So then check the GPO is switched on and if it is then try another appliance in the GPO. If that doesnt work then check your fuse box.
The element may have failed. In my experience domestic cooker elements which are not regularly used absorb moisture and often fail when eventually switched on.

It is the electric element I cant get to heat as pictured any ideas as how to get it going when plugged into 240 volts ?
Firstly can we clarify if it is working when plugged into 240v mains supply and NOT an inverter.
Then it is a matter of elimination.
