No no Craig, 2am is the best time to run it as everyone is asleep then and won't hear it. We can discuss at any time.

What a top idea Dougwe, one of my favourite subjects.

And we should discuss them regularly because a well known   "Allen" on this forum has told us they will be banned in the near future. Oh, hang on a second, that was his comment about 12 months ago confuse.

Big wave to all biggrin

Well I'm no wiser.

It seems to me you lot only wave at caravans when you're towing a caravan, that's just inconsistent - if you feel all warm and fuzzy towards other caravan owners then you should be waving at them when you're not towing or when you're riding a bicycle or walking; indeed I'd love to see all you wavers jumping up and down on the pavement flapping your arms every time a caravan passed.

Right: i'm off to find someone wearing a black jumper so I can wave at him.

PS. Try not to take life too seriously :)

Maybe this habitual waving between caravan operators is nothing more than a cathartic relief for their condition.

 Mate,

If your going to start introducing new topics at least get it right.

They are alternators with an inverter, not generators.

Next you will want to chat about wind farms. Again, wrong. The wind energy (which is generated by the sun, therefore actually solar energy) is converted to electricity. So,, it's an electricity farm, right?

Don't get me started on "almond milk".

biggrin

I always run out on the footpath to wave a really big thank you to any truckie who is carrying goods for delivery to retailers all over our country so that we may go shopping.
More importantly though, I give a frantic wave to those great men and women who have a consignment of beer on board and are on the way to my local pub and bottle shop.
This really makes my boring day worthwhile.

I drove the 25km into and back from here to Swan Hill along the Murray Valley Highway today and not one of the miserable devils towing a caravan waved at me... I wonder if this was because I wasn't towing a caravan? What do you think?

If and when I get down to your neck of the woods Mike I think I will drive by your camp several times a day singing Deutschland Erwache whilst offering a straight arm salute out the window. I am sure that will get you into the spirit of waving at caravan drivers.

Some Aussies gifted this hand waver to the Queen. Apparently she was amused:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/tp-graphic-wave-machine.jpg

I think you could improve on it by adding a motor plus electronic sensors and controls.

Some may remember from years back we could buy a hand which was mounted on a spring and when fitted in a prominent place on the dash board this hand would wave to all.

I say *Bring back the Waving Hand* biggrin biggrin

But who hath seen her wave her hand

Or at the casement seen her stand

Or is she known in all this land

The Lady of Shalott.

I don't know if the Lady of Shalott was towing a van though Mike. She probably was and someone ignored her thus inspiring Tennyson to write the poem.

I accept your Tennyson and raise you a Stevie Smith:

Not Waving but Drowning

Nobody heard him, the dead man,

But still he lay moaning:

I was much further out than you thought

And not waving but drowning.

Poor chap, he always loved larking

And now hes dead

It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,

They said.

Oh, no no no, it was too cold always

(Still the dead one lay moaning)

I was much too far out all my life

And not waving but drowning.
