Over it

Boss and I are currently near the end of a lovely road trip, thought I might add some observations. If youre a grey nomad(GN) keep your thoughts and opinions to your self unless asked. Im over GNs who think they own the caravan park because they have been going to the same spot from year dot. Im over GNs who think people need help all the time reversing. Im over GNs telling people where they can or not park their van in a free camp area. Just mind your own business and enjoy what time you have left.

You have hit the nail on the head Cassie63.

You could add parking all over the place like a mad persons S when checking in or out as well.

I bet this list will build as the day goes on.

Other than that... a good trip? :)

Either tell them straight where to go or just ignore them.

I had one expert nomad stand at my drivers door for 5 minutes interrogating me, where I was from? what did I have for breakfast? etc and I'd only backed in next to him at Quobba Blowholes.

Think I tried to get with the door when I opened it rather fast. Didn't make eye contact with him after that.

When you get out of the car have a white cane at hand & if they ask say... I did my driver's licence in braille.

If they persist... complain to yourself that you lost your hearing aid!

It's not just free camps or caravan parks. You'll find the same anal orifice self appoints himself/herself as
pseudo manager in a Lifestyle village, Retirement village or Over'50s where ever it is they live.
They will tell you what to do, when to do it and how to do it. They will also tell you you
need to be present at the Happy Hour thing and thereby become a member of the faction.
Unless there is an onsite manager with a bit of gumption, this behaviour is allowed to
run unchecked. In cases where it is easy to get out due to no exit fees, some decide
life IS better on the other side of the fence.

Sounds familiar?

 Totally agree.

Also GN's want everything NOW & they want it for FREE.

We stay away from mainstream GN haunts.

What a Bull**** statement, as a GN I dont expect anything for free, I expect to pay my way and support the local economy, Im retired I dont want everything now, I've got time on my hand I'm happy to wait.

From the top of my little dung heap, All I see is the free campers are the biggest tight ar$ed whingers, when they do go to a CP, they usually arrive early have a mountain of dirty laundry to wash, use all the washing machines, while thats happening they hit the showers for half an hour to clean their pits and bits , when the washing is done, you see the hose filling their water tanks, after thats done the Tug and van gets a wash, and thats only the good ones.

 Obviously you are the exception.

I totally agree with the second half of your post.

They are paying to be at the CP, so they are entitled to do  whatever they like.

 Hi Cassie63

None of the Grey Nomads from this forum, who I have personally met, fit this description.

Perhaps I have led a sheltered life, or have just been lucky, and met the cream of the crop.

Much like you Tony, in over 100000kms, and over 250 camps of all sorts, we have met only 1 or 2 people of the sort mentioned. A vast majority of people have either kept to themselves, or been nice to meet and talk to.

Its a bit like all of the dog hair infested caravan park washing machines. Never seen one of those either.

I guess we are just lucky.
