Could someone tell me how to work out the energy use running continuously.

Fridge is not working well and compressor not shutting off, Freezer is working fine.

Lithium batteries (4x70 ah) go from 14.1 to 13.2 in about 2 hours after dark , turn fridge off and they hold at 13.2.

I suspect the fridge thermostat is had it , and draining the batteries .

Currently off grid .

Your LiFePO4 batteries terminal voltage will drop rapidly after charging so ignore the 14.1v reading.  At 13.2v they could be anywhere between 70% and almost 90% but because the charging and discharging profile is so flat you cant really use the voltage as an indication of their state of charge.  in all probability your solar controller and/or BMS have been set so the batteries are not charged to 100%.

What is your battery voltage the following morning with the fridge on all night?

Wiring in a shunt will give you an indication of the power consumption from the battery and the power produced by your solar system.

Right at this moment I am currently charging my battery cells to 3.65v per cell or 14.6v for the battery when I put it back together.  One it has finished charging the voltage will drop rapidly at first and then settle at about 13.4v.

Specifications say that your fridge draws 4.4A at 12 volts so without taking into consideration cycling then that is 105.6Ah over 24hrs.

If we said 50% cycle time then that is 50.28Ah so it should not drain your batteries in one day even if it was running continuously.

I see you have done another post on this.

thanx for the help/replies , every things working fine , the turning down of the thermostat from 5 to 2 has the fridge cycling , batteries were 13.6 in morning , but thats at 8 am .

I would not run a fridge at 5C it's too warm and you risk significant bacterial growth.

+2C for the fridge and -12C (or colder) for the freezer are good temperatures for camping.

Hi Mike I think you will find that it is not a thermostatic dial and that Bazz has turned the dial down to 2 from 5.  Zero or 1 being cold and 5 being the coldest.  

It is always best to put a thermometer on the top shelf.
