I reckon "Mr Squiggle " Garry McCoy was always great to watch as well....but Barry Sheene is still way up there.

Cheers Keith

And don't forget ("the go show") that forgettable ratbag Anthony Gobert, what a waste of talent.
ps modern day GP riders will forever be in Barry Sheenes debt re pay and track safety too :)

Barry did a lot behind the scenes, he got quite a few young riders a start where they would probably have been overlooked by the big teams. He also pioneered the knee on the ground that is standard practice these days. A great man.

I will throw in Tony Hatton's name.

Great rider, top engineer and a extremely nice bloke to boot.

From the sixties, seventies and into the eighties, can be still be found at major Australian motorcycle events for Honda.

Don,t forget Joey Dunlop at the isle of man, used to race the circuit at night for practice! At the bridge jump he said you have to be careful not to land on top of another bike, Joda.

I can't believe Hicky (Peter Hickman) averaged 136mph around the isle, remember when the goal was 100mph?

ps, google peter hickman on board lap and watch a master at work, he comments as you watch explaining what he is doing.

My husband and I used to love doing this going around the wide corner just past the Police Barracks, towards the inner city in Brisbane, in the early '60's.  He was an extremely good rider.   And yes, we DID used to go that low.
