ACM panels

Aluminium composite material are at the front and rear panels of my van. They are not the sandwiched type of fibreglass panels.

They are about 3mm thick and are powder coated black, which has faded a bit and a few stain marks on them.

I tried a small amount of car polish in a small section and all I ended up with was a very black cloth and little difference to the panel. I also tried Amourall on a small section but no difference.

The problem is that there is no gel coat or clear coat and everything I have searched suggests water and a small amount of detergent to clean only.

Does anyone something that can be used to restore a powder coated surface, without stripping back too much colour.

Cheers Bob
