Don't forget to move your clock's an hour forward.

So we get an extra hour of daylight,to fade our curtains quicker.

I fact it does not save any daylight in any 24 hout period. I dont understand why we just start an hour earlier in the day, believe it or not would be the same outcome. Just aulter the alarm insteadof the clock.

It doesn't really suit morning people like us.
We rise at 5am & go to bed at 8.30pm.
We take a brisk hour long walk with our dog every morning at around 5.30am.
Back into darkness we go.

You could always move to Qld or WA. No daylight saving there.

In Queensland one could move east of west for an hour's difference.

Rising sun.

At our stage in life we won't be moving anywhere.

We live in a multi million property overlooking Port Phillip Bay.

Well PT if the comment was directed at me then here are my views.

I detest Daylight Saving.

I have lived in NSW and SA and I do not have a good word for it. (DS)

I wasnt aware that China didnt have Daylight Saving but I was aware that they operate under a dictatorship just as I am aware the we in Aus have a Puppet.

I dont want to indicate any support at all for DS but the length of daylight that will apply damaging UV rays to our curtains will be the same wether we participate in DS or not.

Oh and I tread quietly early of a morning in case I disturb Mike H before he gets up.

biggrin biggrin biggrin

Thank goodness for QLD.

Originally a Wartime measure to save power needed in the evenings particularly in Southern States - It eliminated the need for blackout curtains in houses preparing evening meals and such.

During the height of summer in England they had double daylight saving, 2 hours. Maybe it happened elsewhere.

Extreme measures may be beneficial in some other countries although I do have doubts.

However if we go the other way and look at the effects of DS on the communities in the west of the states then we may see the problems.

Unfortunately like most regulations, these DS time zones are set by those in each state that can not see past the shade that the tall city buildings provide in that  state.

The DS times in places like Ceduna and Penong  and to the west in any state who have adopted this nonsense does have a known and proved detrimental affect on children.

Once again, we have a decision made by those in the Capital with no thoughts or respect to other members of the states population.

One good thing with DS is if you happen to live near the border of NSW and Qld,
you have the opportunity to have 2 lunches or a late lunch or both.
Just wish the Qld government would legalise the purchase of alcohol at Aldi.
Once again, if you are near the border, you van benefit from this.

Just rotate the clockface. Much easier.

So happy I live in WA.
No crazy daylight saving.
We have had trials of it and 5 plebiscites and referendums on the stupid subject and rejected it everytime.
Any one that wants it just put your alarm on an hour earlier.
You can have it all year round then without disturbing the rest of us.

DST is a yearly reminder that the politicians in this country's many kingdoms cannot agree on something as mundane as the time of day.

Sorry love daylight savings. As you guessed I'm not really a morning person.

Nothing better than being on a beach late in the arvo enjoying seeing the sun go down.

You guys got nothing much better to do, you already have one foot in the grave.

You only live once, get out there and enjoy it.

It's a rather dumb comment that you detest DS when you don't have it.

No-one cares that you detest it.
