Police in Tennant Creek pulled over a local lad and were amazed to find the car he was driving was his, not stolen, was registered and fully insured. He held a current licence and had no outstanding warrants and passed both alcohol and drug tests. A search of the vehicle found no stolen goods or drugs.

A police spokesman said, "We had no option but to fine him $300.00 for wasting police time"
