You only see the new Lamb Advertisement when its first released & then it virtually disappears for the remainder of the year.
Ive never seen it during the year but then again, I don't watch much TV, I'd rather read a non-fiction book.

I don't eat Lamb anymore. It's no longer lamb. Just force fed rubbish and much too old to be called lamb. Plus, it's too exprensive. Used to be a staple in Australian homes now its only for the elites.
The ads are incomprehensible and not funny.

You blokes need to get out in the country a bit more, some of the best lamb to be found in small town butcher shops, not the big supermarkets.
We had the best lamb racks on the Baby Q at Jamberoo, NSW. Some of the best chicken and pork in little old Mount Barker WA as well. Try local.
Of course it's only at this time of the year, Australia day........good marketing.
Nothing wrong with Hogget (two tooth) as a lot of Lamb would be Hogget (13 mths to 2 Yrs) as we only see what is marketed as Lamb in Cities and regional large towns where Coles & Woolworths dictate what we eat.
We aren't even allowed to know what types of Potatoes ( ready packaged)or what ages of Meat or even varieties of some fruit that we eat, as this wouldn't be convenient for the Supermarkets.
I love hogget as well and only buy at butchers. You can tell some of the so called "lamb", you buy on special at the big supermarkets is actually hogget. Back in the day you could go into a Wollies and get hogget from the butcher working there, not today.
Totally agree that meat from small country town butchers is fantastic. We by more than our immediate needs & get them to cryovac some.
We also regularly bring country made sausages back home with us, same goes with fish.
If you're ever in Meningie SA buy some locally caught, filleted Coorong Mullet direct from the fishermen, its fabulous.
Its not strong tasting, dark & oily like normal Mullet, its white delicate tasting just like KG Whiting.
