In Australia we have an abundance of vehicles with very similar specifications.

If a manufacturer / Dealer Network thinks they might survive in todays market by trading on a name then their demise is almost a certainty.

There are plenty of other choices.

A myriad of consumer reports on Jeep in recent times have not helped but people only generally complain when frustrated through poor quality and or service.

Might they recover,? I doubt it but it is amazing what a rebadging and a new sale campaign might produce.

Good luck Jeep and to their owners.

In the past we were told "There's only one Jeep". Looks like it's been sold? Cheers

Have they fixed that technical glitch with the flashers & headlights?

At one stage if the headlights were on & you put the left blinker on, it would come on, but the left headlight would go off.

Same thing with the right side.

I saw one a few weeks back that was still doing it.

Jeeps (and some other newer vehicles) are designed so that the headlight goes off when the indicator is used to make the flasher more visible in dull conditions.  The halo light around each headlight should still be illuminated so that oncoming vehicles will see the width of the vehicle. I agree its not good for Jeep owners if they no longer have a presence in Australia but I guess we will be no worse off than Holden owners. Whether they stay or not I wont be buying another Jeep as the V6 diesel is no longer an option. I reckon a big percentage of their sales in Australia were to people like me who bought a V6 diesel GC because of its reputation as a tow vehicle.

At least Jeeps are not catching fire and burning down the house. Still recalls for Korean made doing this due to a faulty brake control component.

And unlike some European vehicles that take up to 9 hours to replace an Alternator, Jeeps are probably less effort.

Quite a number of my family have had or have Jeeps.

All of them have had an excellent run out of them with very high mileages recorded before experiencing any real issues
However, a number of them have said that they will never buy another one because of the absolute lack of service and a severe lack of spare parts with at least two of the vehicles being off the road following a minor traffic accident for around 4 months awaiting parts from the USA.
Jeep has this global village mindset that unfortunately doesn't translate into parts actually being readily available.
This would severely annoy even the most ardent Jeep lover, and if they wish to retain their customer base, this isn't how you go about it.

I have had 2 Grand Cherokees - still have a 2021 Trailhawk - have done over 190,000 faultless kms and have never had the lights issue - or ever seen it. Brilliant car but as previously mentioned - very poor after-sales service although l don't believe that is purely Jeep's domain.

My 2018 Grand Cherokee has been one of my better cars and if they stll had the diesel available I would probably have bought another one. In almost 5 years I have only ever had one issue with it and that was recently when the 9" screen started delaminating - they ordered a new one and it was replaced under warranty within 2 weeks. The only real complaint I have with Jeep is that their servicing cost seemed to be very expensive, they introduced cheaper servicing on the 2019 model but unfortunately owners like me had to keep paying top $.  After they charged me nearly $1200 for the last service I did at the dealership  I had enough and started using Mobile Mechanics.  I paid heaps less for log book servicing, it didnt void the warranty and they came to my house to do it. I cant comment on what other people have experienced or heard about Jeep all I can tell you is what I have found while owning this one..

Is this headlight thing really a problem or is it as I posted earlier the light goes off on the same side that the indicator is used and the halo around it stays lit - like it is designed to do ?
