As the tourist season does not start to about April I doubt you will manage any current reports. I have not been out there for some time but the reports I have seen since on every forum have been similar. See This Map. The road from the east has been sealed through to Arrabury Road (and then through to Innamincka) a while ago. The road in my map from Arrabury R is the only bit of non-sealed road. The Nappa Merrie management do not do much maintenance on the road Over half the road is natural soil and is mostly in reasonable condition. The eastern end contains some natural gravel sections, particularly through the creek flood ways. If your van has good clearance then you should be able to get it through in dry conditions, even if it is at walking speed. It's only 14 km, you should be able to pick your way through in less than 2 hours. If you don't like the track, turn around and continue to Innamincka. You can do a day trip from there, don't be put off going there because you can not get your van in there.
Have a look at Dig Tree Reserve. There is a phone number on that page.

A few years ago we were planning a loop from Cunnamulla to Longreach via the Bulloo, Cooper, Diamantina & Thomson Development Roads. Diverting out to the Dig Tree on the way. We we got part of the way around & then cut the trip short to Quilpie & Charleville. Prior to our trip the area had had some decent rain, the bush flies had bred up to unbelievable proportions. Every part of our bodies was black with flies, they got in our eyes, ears, mouths & nostrils, it was a nightmare. Our dog nearly went nuts. We've camping all over Australia & we don't mind a few flies but this was totally insane. I would imagine that similar conditions would prevail this year.

Mark, if you are staying within Qld and not venturing into SA I can recommend that circuit. It is called The Natural Sciences Loop. That link will take you to a list of other links on the area.
Back in 2018 we towed our van from NSW through Camerons Corner up through QLD to the Dig Tree, Innamincka and Burke's and Wills' graves. That was during drought and the roads were relatively good apart from corrugations on the unsealed sections. How that compares to now is something the locals would know because you are travelling through the Cooper Creek floodways.
