Traveling across the Snowy Mountain Highway next week, can anyone advise how long the descent is down to Talbingo and whether there are any pull overs on the way down?

Things may have changed in the 3 years since I was there, but I remember there were no clearings on the left. A few on the right, mostly quite small. Be aware that means you are parking on the wrong side of the road and you may not be able to cross over to there safely. There is one small gravel road off the right about half way down.
The steep part is about 5km and relentless. It will work your brakes and gears so avoid cooking them. If I were to do it again (I was close to GCM 6000kg) I would probably grab one of those small clearings about half way down and give things time to cool. If you can monitor transmission temperature (automatics) keep an eye on that because hard engine braking generates a lot of heat.

We came up from Talbingo towing,we had no problems.
Coming down there is a great lookout with easy parking on the right hand side.It is Black PerryLookout, from there it is about 10km.to Talbingo.

From Talbingo travelling east along the Snowy Mountains Highway there is a ascend uop the range with a viewing area pull off.
Try not to drive to hard up the hill better off in a lower gear with moderate throttle, no one else is in a hurry.
Have done this trip from Echuca to Tathra several times. Landcruiser Cab Chassis 4.5 lt V8 Manual 5 speed box. Tandem axle Billabong. Strongly suggest you have your brakes checked and adjusted if needed
