I don't buy anything....horsemeat included...from Aldi.

Does that company support local community sporting clubs, like the cricket/footy/netball/ pony club etc etc
etc etc?

Like the long term supermarkets do...
IGA, Coles, Safeway did when we lived, worked and played in central Vic ten years ago,

I don't remember seeing any Aldi signs at the footy ground when we went back in December ?

I read recently that Aldi manage to keep their prices lower by restricting the hours that they're open.

 Head in the sand Woolies and Coles shoppers. Aldi was instrumental in getting those two to lower their

prices in order to become competitive. No 'Aldis' = higher prices. A good friend of mine insists on

Shopping at Woolies because they get a 10% discount on one shop per month. At pains trying to 

explain that shopping at a lower priced supermarket will beat that many times in the month.

To be fair though, there are a few lines that can only be gotten at Woolies or Colrs.

There are no Aldi's in Tasmania thus l can't/won't buy anything from Aldi.

We've lived, worked and played in small towns in Vic and Tas for nearly 40 years,

There were supermarkets in all three of those towns before Aldi...who all supported the local sporting community...and the local community supported them.

 

People in live in major cities or capital city surburbs may not care about stuff like that but it matters in tiny or larger towns in rural areas.

 

We've got family members in suburbia who rave about Aldi but they are only interested in getting a wonky fishing rod/ hammer at the cheapest price.

 They do here at Hervey Bay. Marine Rescue is the prominent one.

I buy meat from Aldi .You can purchase small amounts is seal packs too . Things like whole cut up chicken or sausages?  I put in  seperate containers when I get home . Pork, beef and chicken. l like the scotch fillet the most . lamb ? Too expensive even for ex pat Kiwi !!! Lol

 Not a huge fan of ALDI, but Community support does not have to be sport related. 

ALDI support Camp Quality which is an outstanding charity providing help and assistance to families who have children fighting cancer

Having been involved with local sport for close to 30 years, Ive never seen the local Woolworths or Coles assist sport directly within the area.  More likely to see local pubs donate to local sporting clubs, and this is so club members will return the gesture drinking their alcohol, eating their food and putting a dollar or three into their pokies

In Peru, we ate guinea pig. They keep them like we keep chickens and are a family protein staple. More tender than rabbit. Tasty little rodents, too!
