It's just not cricket

Astralia set India a large total to win 2nd test, wow 114 runs with 2 3/4 days to get there.

Cricket is the definitive example of Parkinson's Law -- an innings expands to fill the time allotted to it.

Maybe I'm a bit of a dinosaur( I think I just offended myself) but I don't think some of the earlier(older) teams would have gone belly up like they seemed to these days. We know what the pitches are like over there, are we picking the right guys to play these wickets or are our heads so far up our ?&%$#=@ that we believe all the hype on the news and social media on how GOOD we are. Just not good enough, maybe the're not paid enough nobiggrinnoIan

Are they still cheating these days. Silly me, all was forgiven and those "fine Australians" are back making big $$$,s. Come in suckers if that's your thing, enjoy. Not me but.

We're ''champions'' when we're playing ''easy beats'' on our own soil.

I reckon Dave Warner placed bets for the entire team to lose big time.

Dumb cricket nothing else, maybe big egoes.
As far as cheating goes assuming your talking sandpaper affair, a couple of dumb players got humiliated world wide, they got their punishments etc etc, they have done their time, not fair to keep on bagging them.. They just got caught, unlike the others from ALL sides and nations!!

Is underarm bowling now regarded as cheating? When they're winning the  Australians team loves to crow that they're the "Best in the world", but when they're losing it's always somebody else's fault. Luckily, the Australians never have doctored a pitch to suit their own players. Cheers

I think your mixing up media hype with players bragging.

Can't say I have ever really heard any players "bragging" that we are number1 in the world, but being no 1 probably does give you "some" bragging rights.biggrin

Re the underarm incident, legal at the time although bad sportsmanship and shocking decision Greg made at the time. Give Chapell a break though, he admits today it was wrong, what, you don't think he's been punished enough over ALL these years, really!!!

I think as far as pitches go, I think Australia is one of the farer countries in that regards, and no expert by any means but have played and followed cricket(not the 20/20 rubbish) most of my life

Farer countries ..Presumably you mean "more fair/fairer" countries, but surely you jest? Chappell eventually admitting that he was wrong does nothing to amend the outcome of the match. Cheers

As one of the many who were actually at the underarm incident, why not blame the " rule makers " instead ?

They were wrong only about 100 years ago.
