Iveco 50C17 dash warning "Service" message.

Hi, I have a 2010 Iveco 50C17 and when starting up a "Service:" light comes on (not every time, but most) on the dash with EBD, ABS and ESP at different times. It goes off within 5 seconds and doesn't come back on. It has no effect on the vehicle handling or braking capabilities and when I took it into the Iveco service people here on the Sunshine Coast they couldn't find a problem nor a fix after three hours. From memory this happened about three years ago when in Tassie and an Iveco service company guy connected a lap top to somewhere under the passenger side glove box compartment and made the required adjustments and solved the problem. Apart from going on a 7,000 K trip to fix it again has anyone had the same problem with their Iveco and had success with the fix.

Perhaps this may work for you.

HOW TO RESET OIL CHANGE/SERVICE LIGHT ON IVECO DAILY
Time needed: 3 minutes.

Turn the ignition key to the ON position
Dont start the engine!

Press the GAS pedal for at least 15 seconds
Make sure to fully depress the gas/accelerator pedal for at least 15 seconds

With your foot on the GAS pedal, depress the brake pedal ten times
The next thing you have to do is step on the Brake pedal 10 times with a one-second pause between each push of the pedal

Turn off the ignition, wait five seconds and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset
Done!

For your info, this operation work for the fifth and sixth generations of the Iveco Daily (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 model years).

Hi No Postcode

I have a good friend that unfortunately is now no longer on here to give advice but he has related to me a couple of things to have considered.

He says that intermittent operation of the engine service light might be indicating a problem in the DPF if it doesnt remain reset after a service.

Ivan also suggests that you can get a variety of scan or diagnoses gauges that arent expensive and you as an owner can plug one into the OB port and check the codes for diagnosis.
I am not personally mechanically minded so I hope that helps and I have this info from Ivan because I am currently parked with our van in Ivans yard while we help him get to and from the hospital for medical tests.

Anyway good luck with it.
