Hi, when I power on my charger letters, ( r0.9) comes up first then ( OLC) then the power on light starts flashing and alarm sounds the battery is sitting on 12.3volts, It has a temperature sensor on the negative pole but the battery is cool, any idea's?
The reason I asked about the cut cables is that the Projecta Intelli-charge 25A 7 stage switchmode charger incorporates voltage sense wires inside (but insulated from) the current carrying charge cables.
For this reason Projecta advise:
"Note: These battery chargers include sensor wires that run parallel to both the
positive and the negative DC leads. This allows for accurate voltage measurements
to be taken directly from the battery. It is strongly recommended not to cut the DC
leads during installation. However if the DC leads are cut, ensure that the sensor
wires are included in both positive and negative connections."
These insulated voltage sense wires are connected to the battery end of the charge cables so that the charger can accurately measure the battery voltage and avoid any voltage drop in the charge cables.
If the charger cant measure the battery voltage because the cables have been cut and the sense wires cant measure battery volatge then it may be possible that the charger wont charge and will display an OLC error message.
I believe the r0.9 refers to a firmware version.
if you look closely in the image below you can see the insulated voltage sense wire inside the charge cable.
