The kookaburras in Western Australia are also an introduced species. However, I am sure it is illegal to shoot them. Matter of fact I remember in my youth an immigrant was charge with shooting what he called a "ha ha pigeon" and eating it.
By the way, black swans are native to WA but have been introduced to the rest of Australia. And I am definitely sure that it is illegal to shoot them.
Rainbow Lorikeets are an "introduced" species in WA too.
Some idiot is now considering enlisting making Cane Toads a Native species!! They say that as dingoes were brought in & are now accepted as "our" native dog that cane toads should have the same consideration!! It won't stop me from giving cane toads lessons in gravity!

Im pretty sure that there used to be, dont know about now, an open season on the black swans in Tasmania.

Best solution for Cane Toads, have a spray bottle filled with Dettol, give them a spray and their cactus

Dettol is a bit expensive to use on cane toads, try no name breach.
I remember a couple of years back a resident in the next suburb got fined a $1000, my wife was wanting to pay his fine, their bird call moaning really annoys her.

We find putting them in the freezer a bit more humane.
Some places would need very large freezers though.
