Has anyone had an insurance policy which requires the mandatory fitment of one of the above in their MH? I am told over a certain value ($150k?) to insure with CIL one must be fitted.
Thanks for all and any replies

It is prudent to ensure that all our property is protected to best advantage - No mobile property is immune from theft or damage - No security system is foolproof - Insurance Companies have a duty to protect their investors from loss wherever possible.
Insurance Companies insist on deadlocks, security screens, window locks, etc - I see no difference in them requiring a basic security system for Motorhomes & Caravans.

I'd say that an alarm is a waste of money, simply because, from my experience, most people simply ignore another's alarm because of the high number of false alarms.
Trackers can be circumvented or disabled and many immobilisers are easily beaten by professional thieves.
No device is foolproof, but I have been told that a simple switch on the fuel line that cuts fuel supply is a good system if the thieves try to drive away in the vehicle.
Anything is better than nothing, I suppose, but thieves are very clever, sometimes using tilt-tray trucks once the alarm/tracker/immobiliser is disabled.
I'd suggest asking your insurance company what they recommend so that you're covered if the worst happens.
It'd be great if you could inform us what they say. Good luck!! Cheers
We have the MT600-Plus Oz version Tracker below in our Caravan. This is connected to a 1m mobile phone aerial above our Wingard TV aerial. The tracker has a Telstra Sim card.
I set up a Geo Fence 100m out from our caravan and the Tracker notifies my Telstra Phone of any movement.( Phone connected to a Mobile Phone aerial above the Cab in our Landcruiser) I know its working when I drive off after a stay and I have not cancelled the Geo Fence.
I have a High Frequency Switch to switch the aerial from the Tracker to a Telephone cable to connect the aerial to my Telstra T81 mobile phone when we are in the van. ( or maybe its a T82)
I have all 3 from one system.
Witi.
Bump it, hook up to it, or try to enter it and it will lock all the brakes, flash every single light, and sound a horn.
If it does go missing, I activate the built in gps tracker and it will tell me where it is.
