When I carefully point out to owners that their beloved twin-cab or LC200, or RAM 1500 or whatever cannot safely tow anywhere near the claimed tow capacity as a PIG trailer (van) invariably I am attacked from all angles despite me providing indisputable facts and figures to support my assertions.
Some owners quickly understand, and are grateful for my advice, but there still is a hard core that cannot understand,, will not understand, or simply don't want to know. Ignorance is bliss. Cheers

Chap on ABC Radio tonight was explaining to those in the market for a tug that if the big Chevy Silverado was to tow it's advertised towing capacity - the driver and all his gear all up in vehicle would need to be no more than 62 kg to be legal - pretty skinny naked driver may get away with it.

Possum, I'll be Umpire. C'mon guys lets keep this part of the forum for jokes!!!!!!!
Gee Phil, I wouldn't have picked you as a person to worry about trivialities.
Solution is simple. If your time is so precious that you can't spare 30 seconds to read anything after OP's contribution, which always is worthy of being in the joke section, don't read any posts after that. Simple stuff.
Cheers, and may I wish you much humour in your life? Life's too short to worry about trivialities.

Didn't see that, Possum, but when you say "Big Chevy Silverado" I'm assumingbyou mean Silverado 2500 because the Silverado 1500 hasn't a snowflake's chance in hell of safely towing a PIG trailer that weighs anywhere near the car's rated tow capacity.
As always, ridiculously low rear axle capacity is the problem, but this is conveniently overlooked or ignored by those reviewing the product.
Whether this is intentional, as no company would pay any reviewer to give a negative report on a product, or because these reviewers don't have any understanding of weights is something I don't know, but this "Eats utes for breakfast", and similar rubbish needs to be exposed for what it is. Rubbish.
Both Silverados, and bigger models, are beautiful cars but the smaller of the two is a sheep in wolf's clothing IMO. Beware. Cheers
P.S Recently a forum member sent me a PM seeking help with his purchase offa Silverado 1500, and after I did all the figures for him we found that, for him, that vehicle was perfect. He was very happy that he was able to proceed with his planned purchase, knowing that his set up was not only legal but most importantly, also safe.
