I am unaware of the current catch rates, but I would have thought that it is a bit late in the 'season'.  We found that as the weather/water cools the numbers fall off quickly.

We only go out to our favourite spot near Brisbane from about late Nov to end Feb.

Having said that a relo of a friend recently caught a whopper at Chinchilla to win a fishing competition.  I saw the photo & it's a biggie.
