The only time I have ever been able to get TV channels on my caravan TV, has been whilst parked in the driveway at home. Doesn't matter much as I now have a Pro Max satellite dish which is great until I park under a tree (yawn). So I have been experimenting with the TV tuning but cannot now even get TV reception in my caravan in my driveway at home. I have a new aerial cable, I have tried both digital and analogue tuning and still the TV tells me no channels have been detected but also to check the aerial connection as no signal can be detected. I have removed it and reinstalled it to make sure it is tight in the sockets.
I was thinking that maybe the satellite installer may have done something to disconnect the TV aerial socket from the external aerial but have no idea really. My question is, are there such people as caravan aerial/TV specialists that may be able to do some diagnostics to see what the issue might be?
I mainly use the satellite dish and a Celfi unit to view things like Netflix and You Tube and a small video player with DVD's if I am desperate but I am having withdrawal symptoms (NOT) at not being able to watch ABC news and get the latest crap on the voice, gender equity, Aboriginal rights, LGQPTRVSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT #^^$%#^&&^$ stuff and usual didactic diatribe etc etc

Like you, I have a Satking Promax, which has never let me down, but I also have another aerial that can be stuck on the roof if there are too many trees etc. Cheers
Make sure as you go through the set up menu that you are searching for DTV signals, as there are now very, very few analogue transmitters left.
If using the inbuilt antenna wiring make sure that any amplifier is switched on - a little push button on the block where the cable connects.
Each time you move you do a search. Each search overwrites the last, so your home stations will have been lost.
Make sure your antenna is pointing in the same direction and in the same attitude as those of the long-time nearby residents.
Sometimes using a Set Top Box to do the tuning and then feeding the AV output to the TV's AV input may get a better result, as some TVs are a bit deaf and blind.
The bit of cable from the wall to the TV can suffer from flexing. Check it out. It might have tiny screws inside the cover.
Ask at your local Jaycar/nearby electrical shop/ radio ham (the antennas are a giveaway) to check it out if you don't have an ohmmeter.
I don't know of any RV only TV antenna tachs. The blokes who come to your home with a signal strength meter also do RVs. Did you fit the plugs to the cable, and is the cable RG6 quad core? As mentioned above, check for crimping in the cable and that the amplifier has got 12V . My bet would be a shorted connection in one of the two plugs.

That's exactly what I did to fix my dumb TV that couldn't see HD stations.
I think that the STB cost less than $50, perhaps $30ish.
Both devices have a HDMI connection as well, so I might just give that a go instead of the AV connection .. Might be even better & also be ready as a connection to my Laptop which is hot spotted to my iPhone for access to internet based content.
No smart TV required.
re the OP .. sounds to me as though the Sat Installer has disconnected the feed from the TV Antenna.
Have you tried taking the tv into the house to connect to the house antenna and then try retuning it. If that does not work then buy a smart tv for the van. They are fairly cheap now.
I have one and it is 22" Mitsumaru brand with a dvd Player built in. Works well through our netgear M6 modem and well of the van antenna. If you have a wineguard sensa 2 antenna then you must have the booster on.

You don't need RG6 cable in a caravan. RG59 is fine.
You do have antenna Tuner in cable to dish for signal strength. Don't you. Sat "approx" will never give good signal unless arsey.
I put a sealable insert in van wall to feed cable through. There's quite often a kink.damage in built in section of cable.
I've removed a couple and replaced with the wall tubes over the years.
Me. I just have a coupla 2 terra SSD Hards. loaded with movies.fishing, and wife's interests.
Whenever we near civilization. Just pick up Foxtel/Netflix and local teev. Record what you want and watch at leisure.
I hate FTA TV nowadays. 99% crap on a gud day.(Apart from Rugby of course).
Let's see if those blue fella's can play as a team this yr. That's what's stuffed them for last 15 yrs or so.
