It's generally the rule of thumb, that third of the population own their homes, the second third are paying off their homes and the remaining third are paying rent.
So where do you fit in this picture.
Us we most likely dont fit exactly in the any of thirds, As we own our home, all be it a caravan and we pay to stay in places of our choice. Would that mean we belong to the remaining 1% with a toe in the 1st and 3rd Thirds ?

Not sure we fit nicely into a specific 33% bracket either.
Own our own house but paying a mortgage on the investment property that will help fund the retirement in a style thats somewhere above the poverty line and somewhere below the lifestyle that we'd like to become accustomed to.
We're assuming that we probably won't ever get a pension. But as the political dipsticks and self-appointed wealth judges continue to implement new and obscure ways of taxing 40 years of hard work to the point that we can no self-fund our own retirement, that is no longer a foregone conclusion.
