If you have been unable to transfer photos & all other files from your Android phone to your Mac computer via USB cable, & used Bluetooth which takes a 1000 years...
Solved.
1. You need Android File Transfer on your Mac.
2. On your phone, enable Developer Options by going to Settings > About Phone and tapping phone model or build number, 7 times in quick succession. This opens up Developer options.
Click on Developer options.
Scroll down the page about halfway to find Default USB configuration, click on that.
(Use Developer options, I think I had must have already had that on with previous fiddling in this area. If it is off, turn it on)
Then change the default No data transfer to File transfer.
Prior to this on the Mac the folders of the Android phone were there but no files. With File Transfer option enabled all the the photos, screenshots & other files like PDFs are there.
If you have a 1000 or so photos & files, in the various folders, the folders can take a minute or so to open. The spinning wheel goes a very long time, a minute or so in my case. So be very patient. I had 3000 photos in one folder. You will need to hunt around some of the folders as some of the folder names are meaningless.
Once you have a list of all the photos or files visible in that folder, select the lot & drag to your Mac folder.
Transfer on my computer is about 1.5GB per minute. A relief compared to Bluetooth at 90kbs (with all other Bluetooth things turned off)!
