I see that the flyover bridge linking the Golden Highway to New England Highway for east bound traffic is soon to open. This was a pretty ordinary intersection with trucks bearing down in both directions.
You mean this one. According to the capture date on the street view, that shot was taken in December last year. I have not seen it.
It looks like the roadhouse on the western side of the New England Hwy just to the north of the bridge has no access to or from the southbound lane. Be aware of that if you are intending to use it when coming from the north.

If you go to Google Maps, look at the satellite and street views. Looking at those today it just looks like any mundane intersection that will have a minimum of problems. The main problem will be for the people coming from the north on the New England Hwy and wishing to turn right onto the Golden Hwy. It is still not a grade separated intersection, drivers will still have to be careful crossing the north bound traffic.

DMaxer. Is that the intersection we were discussing several weeks ago?
The one that was a shocker coming from the West to get across two lines of traffic.
You mentioned to turn off prior to it coming in from the West to avoid it.
If they have fixed that intersection, I am wrapt because it was always risky getting across two lines of speeding traffic in just a car only.
Yes the same one rmoor. I was thinking of travelling through there in a few days and then someone mentioned to me that they had fixed the problem with a flyover bridge. I looked online and all I could find was that the opening date for end of June 2023 had been pushed back.
It is a nightmare if you get to that intersection during the peak periods. If it is now fixed, then "no probs"!
DMaxer, If you look at the satellite view in Google Maps you will see the current state of the road. The end of June was a month ago. It's up and running.

The new fly over at Belford has certainly changed that intersection for the better. I went through there a couple of days ago and no more looking left and right a hundred times before planting the foot and seeking the Lord's help to enter the traffic. There is some additional work going on to make the left turn an easier option as well.
I certainly is a lovely drive up through Merriwa and the Upper Hunter. Just beautiful countryside.
