On or drive from Proserpine to Brisbane we have stopped at a couple of great little caravan parks,
First night we stopped at Brandybottle, which is located on the Bruce Highway between Flaggy Rock and BarraCrab at Clairview, Brandybottle is a bit unique, it has a 9 hole golf course that is free to use, they even have bags of stick and plenty of glf balls also free, then there is the Club house/licenced bar/ kitchen. there is about about a dozen or more sites, I think theres 5 or 6 stes with slabs. Pre booking is advised whilst booking ask Jackie about dinner.
Tonight we are staying at Mt Larcom, which is about 75km south of Rockhamptom, there is a good homemade pie shop, along with a pub, the caravan park is excellent, the facilities are ultra clean, even provide shower mats, the park is rather hilly but sites seem tbe level, as for our site its perfect for big rigs even if you want to remain hooked up, Its site No 1 you drive straight up the hill and turn left, then it just reverse straight back into the site which has plantings on three sides of you dividing you from site 2. There are some sites with slabs and drive throughs. another nice little touch eave site has a table with 2 chairs.
Tomorrow we move to the Showgrounds/Equestrian Centre at Marybrough, note you need to book and pay online to stay there. The facility is located no the northern side of town a K or 2 past the Biggenden turn off.
I stayed one night at Mt Larcom Tourist Park in 2020. I had planned to stay at Gladstone but it was starting to get dark.
A very nice park that appeared to be largely occupied by permanent residents. Very clean and functional ablutions. Also, the owner / manager (the woman) was very friendly and helpful.
Strong mobile phone and TV reception.
But, a lot of (truck) noise from the Bruce Highway, and the rail line.
