Well, here in NZ we want the same from our farmers too, but it seems like bloody CHINA is bleeding us dry of everything .Government and the farmers can`t see the value in us being able to afford good ,healthy ,affordable food .
You get a thumbs up on principle thats for sure .
Rant over .Andy .

I always check frozen produce from NZ to ensure that it is actually grown there & not just imported from China and repacked in NZ.

Fortunately, an Au option is usually available.

Great sentiment re:Australian grown produce. How many are willing to pay for it?

NZ onions cheaper on UK shelves:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-08-12/nz-appoints-grocery-regulator-as-government-eyes-gst-changes/102679742

Recently, a photo of a bag of New Zealand-grown onions photographed in a Tesco store in the United Kingdom was picked up by local press and it was the 95p per kilogram price point that caught people's attention.

At the time, a kilogram of New Zealand-grown onions was reportedly selling for $NZD2.99 on Kiwi shelves.

The original poster asked: "How can onions be $1/kg cheaper after being shipped to the UK? Why are we getting so badly ripped off for food grown here?"
