My daughter is travelling to Townsville alone. She intends to rest overnight in Gympie. Are there any recommended rest areas where she will be safe?

Yes, Six mile creek about 8 kms south of Gympie and Chatsworth about the same distance north of Gympie.

This time of year it maybe be difficult to get into Chatsworth Park,

Coming into Gympie just off the Bruce Hwy at the Afl oval toilet block, dump point, not much else you need except a good night sleep.
