Streaky Bay S.A.

It has been a very long time more than 20 years since I was in Streaky Bay. Lovely town and surrounding area. Each time I was there I never bothered watching any TV, how ever we are planning a road trip with the van through the area and will spend several days at one of the caravan parks, probably the one in town at the beach front. I have heard stories of limited  TV reception with just the standard caravan TV antenna.

Any travelers out there who have been to streaky lately is this correct.

I personally cant help, but in May this year we and friends stayed at Islands Caravan Park, probably one of the best parks Ive ever stayed in.

Anyway, my mate used his TV and he had excellent reception as they had Re-transmitted TV 7, 9, 10, SBS and ABC (2).

I hope that helps, but cant talk about caravan park in town.

A number of years back we visited the area at that time the only tv was analogue  not digital, some localities like Venus Bay it was very poor almost every house had a Sat Dish on the roof to receive VAST TV.

Why not give the caravan park a call, l'm sure they would be able to give you that information. We were there last year and l don't recall any issues but we have the winegard.
There is also the new caravan park a few kms out, maybe try them as well

Looking at the site, I can see why you liked this CP.   It's the one that we would choose .. one of the waterfront sites for at least a week.

It's now in my Preferred CP file just in case we visit there in the future.

Ive been told that (cant guarantee the validity of the story) the bloke who owned Mount Franklin water used to travel to Streaky Bay yearly as he liked the place so much. When he sold the company (I think) to Coca Cola, he purchased the site and built this park putting a lot of thought into it. IMO it was well thought out, and the ammenities are THE best.

Another vote for Islands Caravan Park.

Only issue is it is a bit further out of town.
