Postcards

Just got back from a month long trip to central/west NSW, across to the cenral coast, back along the coast home to Carngham.

Wanted to send my disabled brother who is in a nursing home a postcard, but didn't see any anywhere!

Seems like they are a thing of the past!

Collo.

I think the best postcard would be your own photo. You can send it via email.

When we went round the block in 2000, my wife purchased post cards in most places.  Some were sent to relies & friends & we kept a good range of others as mementoes of the trip.

They are in an album along with prints of a few of the better photos that I took.

(We did similar on our overseas trips)

Post cards were readily available in those days but we have finally caught up with modern technology & send short videos to relos & friends & save thousands of phone photos to files  .. never to be looked at again.  Not quite true as I have started to use them as a rotating background on my PC.

Perhaps you could get prints of our photos at places like Office works / Woolworths or the like in the larger places & post them to him.

Good idea Cupie. Take a pic, go to a photo print place, put a stamp on the back and there's your postcard.

Agree with you Collo. I was looking for a couple post cards when we went down to Victoria and back in June. The young grandchildren like to get real mail, addressed to them, and there wasn't a postcard to be found. Cheers.

A bit like Australia Post as a whole, just sent my Sister a birthday card, it was a whisker over minimum size so put $2.40 on the envelope. Popped in the mailbox Tuesday morning at the post office. Arrived following Monday, 3 suburbs away.

Why not just ask the staff in post offices, newsagents, supermarket or general stores?

I find it hard to believe you can't find any.

Never have trouble finding postcards.

Newsagents or Chemists or Visitor Centres are the usual sources.

I would prefer not to get post cards or photos of someone else's holidays it's the sort of thing a Narcissistfurious would do to spoil someone's day.

A phone call would be more beneficial then a photo especially if your laid up.

That's why we send postcards to people we have differences with letting them know how much we are enjoying our 4 month Italian or France, Germany, English etc, holiday so much!
