You will get differing views, we have a Cel fi-go and generally get very good results the only issues we have had is in a couple places we were in that had a Telstra small and there were a lot of users.
Hi All, Has anyone had experience with mobile phone signal booster?
Im looking at getting one but would like to know others experience and recommendations please.
Hi Vince. My Celfi Go has worked everywhere I've been on my travels all over Australia, including Outvpback Queensland, NT, through outback central and coast of WA, across Nullarbor, SA, Vic and NSW etc.
Highly recommended, although I've broken a couple of aerials when I forgot to fold them down when using low roof drive-thru bottle shops and servos. Mind you, my aerial is quite high, on top of canopy.
I've run another wire from car to van to get reception in van too.
If you're near Brisbane, Port Macquarie or Albany, WA, I can suggest suppliers. Cheers
Im currently in outback WA and Im using Cefigo and having no issues . Im camped around 50 km from the transmission tower location,
During the day phone reception is fine but internet is very patchy but at night its fine.
Celfi go is really the only option as its the only unit that is approved for use by the ACMA. Here is a link to thier site www.acma.gov.au/cellular-mobile-repeaters
Shop around for the best price. Dont buy direct from Telstra as they are too expensive.
Gadget City, Villawood NSW had the best price when I was looking though I did buy through ebay as the supplier was closer to my location
Thanks for the replies, is the signal boosted from , say, no signal at all to being able to make a call or is it simply a boost from ,say, one bar to three for example??

With the celfi go , If you can get any signal , even if it doesnt show on your phone as 1 bar it will be boosted to full strenght allowing you to make and receive calls . Internet may still be patchy
We have the Cel Fi unit as well but be aware that it won't boost a signal "that is not there".
It was expensive and seems to work okay but I would not say it is brilliant.
It is usually okay to watch You Tube via mobile phone to Smart TV but in many country towns you cannot pick up 4G which may be required to watch Netflix.
I always take a small Blu Ray disc player with me with a handful of Blu Ray discs so when all else fails and I need to watch something I use this.
Satellite Dish works most of the time but let's face it there is mostly nothing worth watching on TV anyway!!!!!!!!
Good luck.
David
