Carafan

Just doing our Lotus build, theres an option for a carafan which isnt cheap. Wondering if you have one or you stuck with what was in your van already? Ours has a domestic dust reduction.

Hi Gary, Like you, I was a little concerned about the price of a carafan, so I built my own. This may or may not suit your van, but it works well for me, with no dust ingress on roads like Sutor Development Road or Dawson Develoment Road, among others.

Simple Ram inlet pipe goes down to Donaldson aircleaner in front boot, with a 3 bilge fan to pressurise the van. Plugs on sink, shower etc with all outlets sealed. I have no gas appliances, so no door vent, and a compressor fridge means no need for vents there either!

Really inexpensive, and works well. Nothing on roof leaves more room for 1650 watts Solar too!

Just an idea! Good luck. Cheers
