We have a Mopoke owl "Mopoking" in our front yard all night. (or seems like it) Think its only really early evening and just before dawn.

From Memory in the John Wayne movie Rooster Gogburn, Katherine Hepburn made the very same comment about the "wise old Owl"
My view is that John Wayne's acting in this movie was perhaps his best ever.
