A little bit of miscalculated management.

 

The $528 million Australian Antarctic icebreaker RSV Nuyina is too big to fit under Hobart's Tasman Bridge. The boat now needs to travel hundreds of kilometres north to refuel.

It fits, it just does not have adequate steerage in adverse wind or tide conditions. So it could easily collide with the bridge. Joke on us once again.

Interesting Craig, what is adequate steering?? Either it can steer straight or not?? Steering computer controlled? I don't get it.

Design Maggie, it cannot go the way the master wants it too, I think low speed requirements mean that the wind and or tide can still push it sideways
