Lights not working when plugged into 240 volts

Greetings Nomads, our 2005 Jayco outback 52.58.OB model is blowing the 250 volt - 6 amp fuse behind the black cover for all the 12 volt blade fuses when 240 is connected resulting in the lights not working.

The power points and all the appliances have power when connected to mains power, the lights all work when switched to  12 volt. There must be circuit issue some where but we cannot find it.

Cheers Tony

Welcome Fourtysouth. From memory that old Jayco had 12/240 light combination. If this is so, I would suggest that is where 204v is shorting to 12v circuit. You will need a meter to check it out or - legally, an electrician (unless you are totally confident in your abilities).

Thank you for the feedback Possum, I have spent hours checking with a multimeter with no indication of a problem.
I had an electrician go through all the circuits, checked cords, lights with no outcome.

May be able to help if you can provide more info.

What model Setec is it.

Is the fuse that is blowing behind the door or behind the complete black front when removed?

Thanks Chris, the numbers on the Setec are N2310 and immediately underneath that is 5136.
The serial Number is 08295.
The fuse is behind black front when unscrewed and partially removed.
Cheers
Tony

It's possible that there is a fault in the 240v circuit only, as this is usually completely electrically isolated

from the 12v side. Also the 240v fuse size ( being 6 amp) indicates there is hardly any load on the 240 v side .

If the Setec unit is a BEC4, the label on it says 1.7 amp 240v load only. So not much load at all

I have had good response from Setec in the past so I would give them a call as I am not familiar with this unit.
