Drawbar A-frame

So I want to get the centre mount jockey wheel. My A-frame does not have the cross-section on it. So it would be okay if I took it in to get welded in?

The only other issue would be to reroute the handbrake cables as they currently first run down the centre and then out to the sides.

TIA

I just removed my centre mount jockey wheel, I found it a pain. Replaced with a Ark xo750

If that is what you want, I cant see a problem having cross member welded. Just be careful with handbrake workings.

I have fitted caravan movers so I thought it might be easier to move with a centre jockey wheel. I am looking at getting this. Had some good reviews.

Thanks

I find centre mounted jockey wheels difficult to attach and remove - wrist strength not as good as it used to be.

Welding draw bar "Will" void chassis warranty - The reasoning for this is the potential to "heat treat" the steel making it lose strength. If you consider welding in a cross member ensure it is done by a professional MTA technician, chassis repairer or Automotive Engineer (legal requirement) - it is not a handyman job.

I am looking at getting the jockey wheel thats permanently mounted.

I have a good friend who is a qualified and very experienced welder to do it for me.

Just make sure you have adequate clearance when going through a dip or driveway then, so it does not scrape or bend.

I understand your thoughts, but will you ever push the caravan around by hand?
