Have to fold the mirrors before I go in the garage. Technically wide enough, but I have caught the mirrors occasionally when I forgot to put them in.
I have a few alignment guides in the garage, mirror on left about a quarter in, a marker (piece of tape) on end wall & metal pole along left side for front tyre to hit as last resort, usually get within about 10mm in all directions.
Then I can open the driver's door to first notch with 10mm clearance. A piece of teflon on wall just in case door hits.
Easier to have the car at an angle.

Not being a smart Alec.
Though I am so glad I live in the bush and have the Field of Dreams up the back (just mowed half of it, the rest on Sunday after much rain).
I can drive up the driveway in the new ute and turn around in the Field of Dreams up near the fig tree and the newly planted choko vines.
When the little Roadstar is on can turn it around too up the back paddock in the same spot. No backing required anywhere - whew !!!
Lived in Sydney 1980 to 1987, went there to play cricket from the bush.
I DO NOT miss traffic. Until retirement my office was 300 metres away on the Great Western Highway (not so great now, is the Great Western Pothole now).
It will be a goat track forever now that Albo has pulled the pin on all the Fed funding.
Guess someone has to pay for the plane fares eh?
Last week visited Canberra and was caught on the way home in a traffic jam on the Parkway. I was really amused, I think it is the first traffic jam I have been in for twenty years?
Think I would really struggle to live in a city now....
Not having a shot, just a bit incredulous reading your garage report !!!
I chuckle with the news the last few days with that new traffic debacle through Rozelle.
I know when I visit my sister nearby to you in Mosman on rare occasions it is a battle to find a spot to park out on the street. That too amuses me.
Much rather visit them on their Crookwell sheep farm - more up my bush bunny alley !!!!
Our building is from the 1950s, the garage is a whisker under 5m long. Lucky to have a garage at all. A lot of the blocks of Units in our street don't have any garages or a very low percentage.
Also the government wants to keep stuffing more people in a given space. The roads now are at capacity in our area & everywhere else in the city.
