Just be aware that is rated at 65W so that it will consume 65Ah / 12hrs of operation.
If running off batteries this may be a significant load.

As an aside, it is rated to remove 400ml of water per day at 30c and 80% humidty (RH)

If we assume the internal volume of the van is 20m^3 (2m x 5m x 2m) then van volume would contain 486g of water (at 30c and 80% RH)
Ideally after 12hrs the dehumidifier could remove 200g (=200ml of water) and the humidty (at 30C) would be around 45% RH a much more comfortable level.
Of course this assumes the temperature remains at 30C and there is no input of external humid air such as breathing etc !!

Being a Peltier device, don't forget the 65 watts is heat being added to the room for next to no cooling to condense moisture.

Far better off leaving the compressor esky open for 10 times the efficiency.

I imagine that you would need to keep all the windows  closed to avoid the continual resupply of moist air.

No air flow then creates a very hot van.

Is there any real overall benefits with one of these little dehumidifiers in a van?

Any thoughts, or anyone with any experience?

I looked at them 12 months ago. All my research indicates that they are worse than useless. If I remember correctly choice magazine tested them and said the same.

A small air conditioner can remove a litre of water every hour. That's really the best thing about them how quickly they dry the air.
