Good to see. Always nice to see a kid from the bush do well.
The game was a disappointment.
I was surprised at the poor quality of the wicket, effectively win the toss, win the game.
One wonders about these drop in wickets sometimes?
I forget who the plethora of failed spinners were after Warne and Lyon looked ordinary at the start as well.
He hung in there though and has really matured into a top class bowler, all the better too as he does so little with the ball, no doosra, arm ball etc??
I ran into Glenn McGrath not so long ago at the local servo, he is a real nice humble fella, missed out playing against him, on Dougy Walters recommendation they snaffled him away from bush cricket a young age.
They saw the talent early.
Looking at his performances yesterday, he was really quite an extraordinary player.
McGrath's figures are remarkable.
What were the poms calling Murphy.
A P*$$ weak Harry Potter??
Harry Potter might be waiting in the bleaches for a very long time.
Also a shame we have a D.K. Lillee lookalike in some ways in the Wild Thing (Morris) might be stale and 20 K's slower by the time a spot opens up for him?
We have the best balanced pace attack now, that won't let anyone else in. Boland is brilliant but also can't get a start.
As for Morris, there is nothing that will get a batsman's heart rate up more than an express opener.
Shame we don't play more tests so the fringe quicks could get a start now and then.
Lyon looks really hard to get away these days which must go some way toward his success.
He does vary well, keeps it simple, then occasionally gives the danger ball a few more revs.
Good spinners can be really hard to score against if they are not bowling any long hops or full tosses.
