sorry i might not have been clear i know it comes from the brake controller but i want to put a 7pin flat plug on my car and i only have 5 wires atm where do i pickup the wire to go in the socket for the blue wire
First off, don't put a 7 pin socket on the car. Get a 12 pin one. They can accept either 7 or 12 pin plugs and most vans will be 12 pin. Future flexibility.
As for the wire .... what brake controller do you have? I fitted my own Redarc controller. It provides the wire which I laid along the chassis and then fed into the factory wiring loom near the back. I discovered the wiring loom (for the PX2 Ford Ranger) has a blue wire terminated at the socket ex factory, but that wire just ends inside the loom. It sounds like you do not have that either so may need to feed the wire all the way from the brake controller.
yep got it worked out im using a remote controller and its all in the loom it conects to my car then the van plug picks up the blue wire thanks for your help i was a bit lost cheers

Looks like your tug is wired to a 5 wire 5 pin round socket (old type wiring).
Discard the old trailer wiring.
Get a metre, or as much is required, of 7 core trailer cable and 7 or 12 pin socket from auto store.
Rewire the tug trailer cable and fit socket according to included specs.
Most of the wiring connections will be made at a suitable point in the rear of the tug, eg. brake lights, indicators, tail lights, 12V+, 12V-. Then run the blue cable to this point also.
If you have a van or a trailer with 7 or 12 pin plug then all will be well.
Always best to include all relevant info and even pics of the current setup.
