I think the only disgrace here is the increasing percentage of the population who are too lazy and/or too entitled and who are expecting the Government (and therefore indirectly the ever decreasing number of tay payers) to fund the lifestyle that they'd like to remain accustomed to.
My view is, that once a Politician has retired, voted out of office, or lost their job in any way their pension should be equal to that of a fully paid aged pensioner.
No doubt they have a super scheme like everyone else.
After all, they have a job to do like the rest of us, and should not be given special treatment.
Plus they walk away with a fist full of dollars and then gain re-employment in our normal world.
Let's also view the salary and perks that they get.
If when in government they have not set up a retirement plan like the rest of us have to, then STIFF SH&T.
They can walk away with a better financial deal than winning a $million bucks in gold lotto.
Why should they be the privileged folks in our society?

Jay&Dee for
J & D, they do not have a super scheme like the rest of us. It is a Gold Plated Double Dip and accessable at any age once they are out. The so called " new scheme " has been reined in slightly, but still far better than most workers. Not sure about the leprechan version though.
They have used the excuse that " theirs is not a guaranteed job ", try telling that one to Bonza employees for example.
