Well what I thought would be a very simple task has turned to a rediculous cherade.
I've just been to Jayco Adelaide to ask.....
Q. What is the size and thread pattern of the wheel studs on our Van.
A. We don't know. You'll have to get them measured.
Serious ?
Q. How much for a set of 15" Mags to suit our Van.
A. We can't tell you if they will fit. I said I know they will fit, how much ?
We can't sell you any 15" because your Van has 14" and we can only be sure they will fit by your Chassis number, but that will only tell us that your wheels are 14". (we had the chassis number)
Q. I asked are the wheel studs all the same on the Journey and Outback.
A. Not sure.
Neither the Workshop nor Spare Parts could tell me.
So I walked out.

You need a vernier & a thread gauge, or go to bunnings & get 12 m.m. fine nuts & see if they fit, a ruler measurment across the end of the stud should tell you the thread diameter, if your eyesight is good you can measure the pitch of one thread to the adjacent thread, will be 1.25, 1.5 something like that,

Easy enough to find out.
Remove a wheel nut and take it into Supercheap or Auto one or a specialised fastener supplier. and they should be able to match it up with size and thread pitch
Before you go, remove a wheel and measure the length required.
Vernier calipers are usually the best to do this.
I would almost bet my left nut that the size and pitch will be 12mm x 1.5 for 14" wheels.
To check if wheels will fit you will need the PCD of the stud pattern, number of studs and the offset of the rim.
The offset will ensure that the wheel isn't too far in and rub on suspension components, positive offset, or too far out that will rub on bodywork or overload wheel bearings, negative offset. Offset is often found on the inside of the wheel expressed as ET.
For arguements sake ET12 would mean that it has a positive offset of 12mm or in other words the wheel will sit 12mm further inwards from the centreline of the rim and the mounting face would be 12mm outwards from the centre line. The opposite would be true if the ET were -ET12 and would look more deep dished.
You may be over critical of the spare parts response. Perhaps they did not explain it well enough.
My van came with Huntsman suspension, ordered by the original owner. He ordered hubs to suit his tow vehicle. Just looking now on the site I can see there 6 options for stud patterns.
Which was ordered for your van? The fact that you are asking for 15 inch wheels when their records show it was delivered with 14 inch make this far from clear. I suppose you know the plate specifies the wheel size that should be on the van.
When it comes to replacement wheels, what offset do you need?
So I understand why the answers may not have been forthcoming.

Yes I know most of that stuff, was more having a whinge about Jayco.
Pretty sure Jayco use Ford wheel bearings, so hoping the Studs are ford too. Greg, I wouldn't be using my nuts as collateral in a bet .
The studs aren't Isuzu, they are slightly bigger in diameter. I went to the Wreckers and got a fe nuts to try, failing that, I'll take an existing Jayco nut to our local Nut and Bolt supplier to be measured.

Off set is -12 to -20.
I have a set of Hilux mags that fit perfectly but don't have nuts.
I have a few to try that the Wreckers gave me, plus what my Mechanic has given me. But, I was hoping to get a price for a new set of Mags from Jayco but that was too hard. Cheers all, DR.

I somehow remember our Starcraft are 1/2 inch UNC as Craig says. They have a 19 count thread. Take a wheel nut to United Fasteners, but I think that is correct.
I cant check at present as van is in getting some work done.

There is another consideration and you have not given us a clue towards it. That is brake drum sizes. Changing from 13-14" to 15-16" wheels down rates axle carrying capacity if the brake drum size is 10". What is the group axle carrying capacity of your suspension? Is it single or dual axle.What is the ATM of the van?

Jayco will NEVER tell you anything,because its the age if deniability and liability if anything should go wrong .I gave up yrs ago trying to get a simple answer to a simple question from them .
