A couple of days ago after receiving a quote on next years premium for our house and contents insurance, I decided to ask for a quote from Australian Pensioners Ins. I gave them the figure from my present insurers and was amazed at the difference.
RACV. $1,972 08. That included a 25% No claim bonus discount of $696.84. A multi policy discount of $213.06. and a gold membership benefit of $287.61. now although math has never been a strong point of mine that adds up without the discounts, to a total of $3,197.59. One could assume if one was a bit cynical, that all these "discounts" are a figment of someones imagination or a selling point to make things look a lot better?
Australian Pensioners. $1,273 75 for the same amount insured!!! No frills attached.
Needless to say they will get the business and the Paj insurance when it is due.
Check your policies folks. I wish I had done it years ago probably could have saved thousands.

I spoke with a truck driving client yesterday.
He is considering not insuring his trucks anymore.
Just the other vehicle etc as the insurance premiums on his trucks have near doubled.
Like so many costs in this current inflationary cycle, people look and find alternatives. Of course the problem there is, if it becomes common, they will jack up premiums, prices etc anyway.
My second vehicle, the old Suzuki Vitara I now have insured fire, theft and other vehicle for $178 a year. I rang them recently about my DMax insurance policy which increased markedly and the weak excuses over the phone that are no doubt scripted for the overseas phone operator were pretty pathetic.
Why is it so many large companies treat us like children and hit us with some sh*t awful spin?
