Hello everybody I actually can't believe I'm asking how to remove the black bezel around the tail light. For the life of me I have tried everything without smashing it off with a hammer to get it off can anyone shed some light on this please.

I called a mate and he said the black bezel stays and the 3 lights come out. You need to wedge a blade into the middle of the light and then use a thin flat screw driver to dis lodge the light outward.
The opposite of what I was thinking, this really stumped me. Some days your much more clear thinking at problem solving than others.
Hence all the confusion.
Very important on who you know not what you know at times (wink)
I know the lights are old and this caravan is not new but it will do me until I sell it and do a "complete proper build of my own design" I'll be sharing this in future to you all.

Exact same tail light, and doing the same job as you, not wanting to break anything. Stumped by not knowing how far to go and where to apply FORCE.
I will be very interested in seeing how you conquer the plastic dilemma.
I installed these quite a few years back but cant remember how the thing went to gether.
I remember only last year trying to remove our caravan rear lens, was complete stumped, took a photo of the lights and sent it to a family friend a retired auto electrician teacher.
Moment later a message come back "look closely at your photo".
Lens had clearly marked a spot marked with an arrow and small print " remove lens here".
It seems the "plastic" snap-apart caravan fixtures are really not meant to. In fact, most plastic used in caravans breaks down after only months in the Australian weather.
If you were building a new van it would be better to use metal and glass fixtures.
I remember back in the 50's when fabricated metal automotive parts were being replaced by die cast zinc - old timers in the industry were complaining about how the diecast parts were inferior, and prone to breakage.
The cost of manufacturing dictates the quality of parts, sad but true.

I updated my original post (1st one) with the answer to removing but here it is in case you missed it..

The black bezel or the actual mounting housing for the LED lights stays in place with 6 screws. The interesting thing is that this black housing is the same if you flip it 180 thus exposing a sun free no UV damaged surface.
So I had a win in the end. However the lead up was a little different though. "frustration turning into desperation then almost caravan violence" (laughing)
PS: I am in the process of re sealing all the "J" mouldings.
As you can see in the above pic there is no silicone against the white J moulding.
I have to say removing the old silicone has been a major major marathon exercise!!
The surface of this sheeting adding to the hours removing silicone from ALL the divets.
