This makes no sense

This is a Mini Cooper indicating a right turn. How did this ever get past the concept stage, let alone comply with any government's design rules? Are people really that stupid?

Small potatoes after the IOC decided a man can be a woman.

I had been seeing the Coopers tail lights as half of the British flag. The other half of the flag is in the light on the other side of the vehicle.
Maybe a German built car trying to show is British heritage.

My view is that the indicator light is flashing on the side of the car to where the driver wants to turn, so I know where it wants to go.

I would think that safety devices should ideally not require a conscious effort to understand them. Many life-threatening incidents require split-second reflexive/instinctive responses. Anything that confuses the primal brain should be outlawed, IMHO.

It's hilarious that people (Pommies) still see the Mini as British (British means England to Pommies) Mini is German owned & designed since 2001. The Germans are having a huge laugh at the moment, this is called Taking the P***.

I always thought it stupid that Aussies saw GMH as an Australian brand, especially when the Opel Commodore was introduced.

Today, I was stopped behind a Mini Cooper, wanting to turn right at a traffic light.  Its tail lights were a slightly different design to those in Dorian s first photo.  The indicator on the vehicle easily enabled my senses to distinguish that the vehicle wanted to turn right. No wrong way arrow.

Here is a snip from a video, link below. There are many on Youtube. I guess if you are a pom, showing Union Jack tail lights would be patriotic.

There are different models. In this one the indicators are progressive (he says "sweeping"). Surprisingly the vertical section on the inner side is the brake light. In the video it appears yellowish unless directly behind ... the same as in Watsea's image ... in his, the left one does not appear to be on. Puzzling.
