Hi all, My name is Fred, and she who must be obeyed (wife) is Rhondda. I have had caravans, modified busses and campers ever since 1978 when I fist crossed the Nullabour to Melbourne from Perth in an EH station wagon towing a 22 york caravan. Times change, luxury and equipment thankfully improves, we now have a Fifth Wheeler (Trulux) and have enjoyed it along with the GMC Sierra for the past 5 years. However, we have decided to sell the fiver and our GMC and are contemplating a move to a very nice 2010 Winnebaco C3136 Longreach. It has only travelled 80,000Km but I am sure like most caravans, fivers and motorhomes there are generic little gremlins that need to be kept at bay.
I would appreciate any suggestions on what to look for, recommened mods, do's and don't. This unit is the usual build sitting on the Isuzu NQR450 cab chassis and is auto.
The unit that you are going to buy should be thoroughly inspected by an R/V specialist, for any signs of previous water ingress. They were built at the Emu Plains factory of Avida.

The Isuzu base is usually a good vehicle, but it depends on how it was serviced/treated by previous owners.

Hi Fred, We purchased a 2008 Longreach in 2017 that had 80,000 km and have now done 170,000 km with no mechanical problem. We use any road surface, do keep the services up especially on the bodywork. Inside as good as when we purchased, externally a few scratches. Have changed things slightly like cupboards replaced with draws. Lithium batteries, more solar. Great to drive. Mechanically new shockobsorbers, full torque convertor oil change every year. Avida longreach forum is good, Buy and enjoy
