Appears misfuelling is not always a disaster.

Fishing buddy recently bought a Mux.   He had previously borrowed my DMax and liked the package so bought the Mux to pull the new van.   Old habits caught him put at the fuel pump and he mistakingly put about 70 Litres of 95 in the Mux tank.   Vehicle started playing up pretty soon after leaving the Caltex but he made it home, about 2.5 K.   RACQ attended and the Fuel Filter was immediately checked for water.    As soon as the Fuel Filter was opened, the problem was evident.  So then, Old Mate RACQ  bloke provided the phone number of a third party provider who is set up to deal with such circumstances.

Third party arrived, drained the vehicle of the diesel/petrol mix, flushed all the lines, installed a new fuel filter and fill the vehicle with the required Diesel.   RACQ had already cleared the Check Engine codes and the vehicle started immediately and without fuss.   Fishing buddy has now done a return trip to Mackay with about 2800 Kg on the back and a couple of thousand K without a trailer and the Mux engine has not missed a beat.

Lucky?   I have heard several horror stories following misfuelling incidences, including very expensive consequences of putting petrol in where Diesel should go.

Very lucky to have dodged an expensive bullet.

If Isuzu ever find out about it, they'll probably deny any and all future warranty claims relating to the engine and fuel system.
